M Shelly and Tiffany Conner relocated from Chicago to central Arkansas in 2018 to pursue their homesteading dream. In December 2020, they established Conner Homestead to create a self-sustainable lifestyle, generate generational wealth, and facilitate a safe space for historically marginalized people. As new homesteaders, they have found inspiration in family stories and the history of Black homesteaders; as well as resources in other Black homesteaders through social media.
